Geocell Selection Guide for Channel Protection
When you want to use Geocell on a Channel protection project, what Geocell type(mainly Geocell height and Geocell welding distance) you should use? Maybe most of you have this same question. Today, let me tell you how to choose different suitable Geocells according to different project types.

Generally, subgrade strength, slope angle, peak flow velocities, and type of infill material are important factors when selecting the Geocell type.
If you have professional engineers to design the project, it is best, that they will calculate the exact Geocell type based on all your project information. But if you do not have, based on our experience, you also can check the below information for reference.
| Flow Velocity | Cell Type (Welding Distance) |
Cell Depth | Infill Material |
| up to 3 m/s | Excell356 or Excell445 | 7.5 cm, 10cm or 15cm | Granular, Aggregate |
| up to 6 m/s | Excell356 or Excell445 | 7.5 cm, 10cm or 15cm | Vegetated Soil |
| over 6 m/s | Excell356 or Excell445 | 7.5 cm, 10cm or 15cm | Concrete |
