Project Description
How does Geocell work on retaining wall projects?
The Geocell retaining wall system meets all project-specific structural requirements. The Geocell walls are also highly adaptable; they provide exceptional performance in soft soil environments and seismic zones, tolerate reasonable differential settlement better than rigid wall systems, and can be constructed as gravity structures in areas with space constraints. The system allows for construction flexibility and provides aesthetics through a completely vegetated face. Horizontal terraces are formed where vegetation can flourish in the exposed outer cell infill. The system captures rainwater and controls groundwater evaporation, creating a more natural environment for vegetation.
Why does Geocell work?
1, Maintains structural stability against all loading through its mass and frictional values of the infill.
2, Meets site challenges when subgrade soils are compressible or construction is in difficult-to-access locations.
3, Does not require heavy equipment for installation.
4, Low impact development system reducing stormwater runoff.
5, Creates blending with any environment through the use of tan, green, or special-colored facia panels.
6, Can replace gabion baskets. GeoCell panels do not need a rock and can be filled with native soil and be fully vegetated.
Typical Applications:
Vegetated retaining walls
Gravity walls
Steep slopes
Dikes and levee protection
Culvert headwalls
Vegetated channel structures
Change-in-grade landscape walls
Sound barriers
