What’s the diameter or aperture of Geocell?

Recently, I received 2 inquiries for different sizes of HDPE Geocells from 2 different customers.

One asked me the quotation for below specifications:
12inch cell depth
30cm aperture
Attach other specs

Another one asked me the quotation for below specification:
Sizes need
1.Height 150mm. Diameter 150mm
2.Height 100mm. Diameter 200mm
also need the HS code.

First, we should know that when Geocells are expanded, the cell size is a rhombus type, it is not a square. Please check the below photo, which can help you to easily understand.

Second, I’d like to tell you our regular expanded cell size for the most popular Geocell welding distances as follows:

For welding 330mm, the expanded cell size is 250x210mm (width x length).
For welding 356mm, the expanded cell size is 260x225mm (width x length).
For welding 400mm, the expanded cell size is 290x260mm (width x length).
For welding 445mm, the expanded cell size is 320x288mm (width x length).
For welding 600mm, the expanded cell size is 430x405mm (width x length).
For welding 660mm, the expanded cell size is 470x450mm (width x length).

As Geocells are not circles, why do some customers still use the diameter or aperture to describe the Geocell expanded size?  Because they mean the different sizes, I will show you through photos below, then you will know the difference between the different sizes that we talked about.

Geocell size

For diameter or aperture, the customers mean the green line, but for the regular and professional expanded cell sizes we should call the red line.

W=expanded cell width

L=expanded cell length

This W x L is the regular expanded cell size that we called.

For this photo, the diameter or aperture that some customers call is line CxD, and A=B=C=D, through this, we can know the corresponding Geocell welding distance, and then can quote the exact price to the customer.

A=B=C=D, for the right welding distance length is twice of the red line.

Geocell size

Then we can know, for the first inquiry, the customer needs height 300mm and welding distance of 600mm HDPE Geocell. For the second inquiry, the customer needs height 150mm and welding 300mm + Geocell height 100mm and welding distance 400mm HDPE Geocell. Do you understand the different sizes of Geocell now?
