Geocell Selection Guide for Slope Protection
When you want to use Geocell on a slope protection project, what Geocell type(mainly Geocell height, welding distance, and seam peel strength) you should use? Maybe most of you have this same question. Today, let me tell you how to choose different suitable Geocells according to different project types.

Generally, subgrade strength, slope angle, type of infill material, and application(erosion control or slope protection) are important factors when selecting the Geocell type.
If you have professional engineers to design the project, it is best, that they will calculate the exact Geocell type based on all your project information. But if you do not have, based on our experience, you also can check the below information for reference.
| Slope Steepness | Cell Type (Welding Distance) |
Cell Depth |
| 1:5 or less | Excell660 or Excell712 | 7.5 cm or 10 cm |
| 1:4 | Excell660 | 7.5 cm or 10 cm |
| 1:3 | Excell445 or Excell660 | 10 cm |
| 1:2 | Excell445 | 10 cm or 15 cm |
| 1:1.75 | Excell445 | 10 cm or 15 cm |
| 1:1.5 | Excell356 or Excell445 | 10 cm or 15 cm |
| 1:1.25 | Excell356 or Excell445 | 15 cm |
| 1:1 or steeper | Excell356 or Excell445 | 15 cm or 20 cm |
