Geocell Yard for Concrete Trucks
Below is an inquiry I received in the year 2022, from a Mexico construction company, which wants to use Geocell for a concrete-filled slab-on-ground for a yard for a trucking company.
We’re a construction firm based in Monterrey, Mexico and we were wondering if you could quote (and what info would you need) geocells for a 25,500 m2 and 75 mm of thickness project in Monterrey.
The project is for a concrete-filled slab-on-ground for a yard for a trucking company.
It’s a yard for concrete trucks, which will be about 56,000 lb or 25,041kg.
My answer:
It is no problem to use Geocell on concrete truck roads, and our Geocell has been used in many similar load support projects, I have shared some photos that our customer has done on Whatsapp, please check.
For your load capacity of 25 tons, it is better to use a height of 150mm, and our engineer suggests using 100mm at least.
Finally, this customer buy 25,582m2 of our Geocell HF150-356(height 150mm, welding distance 356mm), thickness 1.5mm, textured and perforated type.
Generally, subgrade strength, vehicle type, axle loadings, traffic patterns, type of infill material, and application(surface or base stabilization) are important factors when selecting the Geocell type.
If you have professional engineers to design the project, it is best, that they will calculate the exact Geocell type based on all your project information.
